JEX (JADE Environment eXtension) is an agent-environment and visualization layer for the JADE multi-agent platform (Java Agent DEvelopment Framework). Originally written as part of my doctoral thesis (chapter 5, local planning for VICA), it adds a shared situated environment to JADE — which the standard platform lacks — and provides a real-time graphical view of agents, messages and environmental state, used to debug and inspect the multi-agent simulations underlying the VICA local planner.
